Spotify: Artist Playlists

Spotify is my leading choice for streaming music. The catalog is comprehensive, I can split the $15/month subscription six ways with my friends and family, and I enjoy the user experience for the most part. Other platforms are good for exploring new music too, but there's one thing on Spotify I use that I don't find elsewhere, and that's Artist Playlists.

I like these better than the thematic, curated playlists put together by the company itself. They're usually more creative, and it's a unique way of engaging with artists. Influences, favorite current tracks, and travel mixes can all be found in these selections put together on the musician's own profiles.

This is an Artist Playlist from Swedish producer HNNY. He makes electronic dance music for the most part, but this playlist (with a watermelon emoji for the title) is a mix of various genres with generally uplifting and laid back tunes throughout.

I listen to a lot of dance and hip hop, but it's nice to venture into other tastes for a change, and there's no better guide than an artist you already trust.
